Shaila Limaye is the Managing Trustee of MMCT - Majhimaitrin Charitable Trust. She is a graduate in Arts from the Mumbai University and is a thorough social worker who strives for the upliftment of the downtrodden. She has extensive experience in organizing workers from unorganized sector like household maid servants, construction workers, farm workers, brick workers, etc. She holds several prestigious positions in various social / govt organizations. INTUC Activities:
Working in unorganized sector for organizing Household maid Servants, construction workers, farm workers, brick workers etc.
Formed Rashtriya Asanghait Kamgar Seva Sangha a union for Workers from the Unorganized Sector under ICFTU/APRO.(Asia-Pacific Regional Organization) Project.
As President of this Union opened branches at Pune, Satara, and Bhusaval & Nasik with approx. Membership of 2150.
Formed and activated Self-help groups for women from unorganized Sector in Pune, Nasik as well as in Bhusawal.
Organized various educational &cultural programs for women in unorganized sector from slums.
Active-participation in various activities of INTUC:
General Secretary - Central Women’s Working Committee, INTUC, Delhi.
President - Mahila Aghadi-Maharashtra INTUC (2002 to 2008)
